   New roof construction & installations

A new roof system is a big investment. We want to help you get a quality roof system at a fair price.

There are a number of things to consider when selecting a new roof system. Of course, cost and durability head the list, but aesthetics and architectural style are important too. The right roof system for your home or building is one that balances these five considerations:

Roof covering, Sheathing, Roof structure, Flashing and Drainage.

A1 Armor Construction is your resource for all phases and types of new roof construction (Flat Roof, Shingle, Slate, Tile, Metal or Rubber) .

   Roof Inspections

A1 Armor inspects roofs for real estate appraisals as well as when leaks occur or are suspected on residential and commercial roofing systems.  Severe storms, snow and ice can often signal existing problems with older roofs.  Leaks, even "temporary" ones, should be inspected and handled as soon as possible to avoid further damage to the roof or underlying structure.  In some cases, the roof is in reasonably good condition, but flashing and seals around chimneys or skylights may simply need repair.

You can trust A1 Armor for a thorough roofing inspection. We inspect roofing materials, flashing, vent boots and seals, as well as the roof deck whenever accessible from the inside.  We advise you of any remedial work that may be required, and provide a good-faith written estimate of any repair work needed.

   Flashing

Where your chimney and roof are connected (the roof flashing) needs to create a waterproof barrier.

We can make sure this transition between your chimney and roof doesn't leak - and if necessary install new flashing or repair your old flashing.

The installation of a cricket will afford additional protection against water leaking into the home.

A cricket is a water deflector that serves to direct rainwater away from the chimney. Crickets are recommended on chimneys more than 30 inches wide and are especially important on steep roofs.

   Ventilation

Ventilation is probably the least understood requirement necessary for achieving a healthy home.

Ventilation is absolutely necessary not only to the health and well being of every home, but also to every home's occupant.

The attic plays a key role in the durability of a house and the safety of the people living there. If you don't pay close attention to the attic's venting, moisture can propagate mold growth and cause the roof's wood to rot.
